Street Photography

Street photography always seemed like something I didn’t have the courage to do. The thought of capturing fleeting moments amidst the hustle and bustle of the urban landscape felt daunting. Especially with strangers look on. But for some reason, after bypassing countless "No Trespassing" signs, slipping through holes in chain link fences, and carefully navigating through knocked-down walls and over soft, sunken floors, I found myself mustering the boldness required. Strolling down a lively and legal sidewalk, with camera in hand, somehow felt less intimidating now. With newfound courage, I ventured out and began to enthusiastically capture the vibrant tapestry of life unfolding before my lens.

I used street photography and all its various challenges as practice essentially. Looking for and acting on spontaneous ascetics—sometimes waiting patiently, sometimes darting across traffic, sometimes getting soaked in down pours of rain—suddenly made directing a subject in a controlled environment seem quite easy.
