On stage, live events, nightlife and musicians
Growth and setbacks
I wanted to shoot new and exciting places and people. Not being an established photographer meant I had to go where there was a need for pictures despite lack of experience. Where better than parties, nightclubs, and the music scene, filled with photogenetic, charismatic, and talented artists and people, who both love and need photos of themselves.
It’s no secret that in today’s tech-savvy world, everyone is constantly engrossed in their phones and immersed in the world of social media. The sheer volume of images and videos that pass before our eyes every second is truly mind-boggling. Arguably a negative fact for society, probably, looking back on this moment decades from now, a staple in the downfall of civilization. But truly a positive in relation to my photography because in meant that what I did was of value, seamlessly opening the doors between me and not only meeting new people and personalities, but also giving me more and more practice with my art, and further enhancing my abilities to communicate to the world around me vicariously through the images I created.
But, just as easy that door to a whole new world opened, it slammed shut in my face. shortly after I was on stage taking pictures and videos of the artist Fetty Wap, who was performing at The Chameleon, a virus spread world wide and shut society down. With Covid-19 forced the world to come to a stretching halt, as well as any means I had to continue my journey and practice my arts.
